João Magalhães, Lic. Eco.

     Position : Member Board and Chief Executive Officer

     Year of Joining : 2000


Before reaching his current position of CEO of the company, he played an important role in the management of Moris Rasik as Branch Manager, District Coordinator, Training Manager, Head of Operation and General Manager of the Company. Serving in the various position in the company, Mr. João developed proven strong leadership skill and abilities as an individual that help him to take initiative and steer his subordinates towards accomplishment of strategic mission and vision of the company.   


As an accomplished professional with more than 23 years in mid and senior level management positions of the company, he has been performing the position of Chief Executive Officer in SFMR since the last 2 years. Having worked with highly skilled international talent and professionals, he earned knowledge and experience in strategic planning, modern management capacity and innovating new products; and implementing his expertise in the area of operational and prudential Financial management, risk management, new product development, corporate governances and regulatory compliance.


Base on Mr. João's innovative contribution and persistent commitment towards poverty reduction, SFMR become one of the  largest and best practice MFIs (with 0.50% Portfolio at risk) in the financial sector of Timor Leste. As of now, SFMR has reached to more than 26,500 poor households and serves approximately total of 170,000 poor beneficiaries (approx. 12.6% of total population) in Timor Leste.


Moreover, he has been making significant contributions for policy makin of the company as head of the Management Committee and more importantly one of the Board Directors (staff representative) since 2016. He has been maintaining integrated professional relationships with the 270 staff of the company; all the major lenders and partners including Banco Central de Timor Leste (BCTL) and Government Officials on behalf of the company.


Mr. João made an important contribution and dedicated his professionals skill as a team member of the organization during transformation of SFMR to a regulated other deposit taking institution in November 2018. He has been involved in every aspect of setting up the regulated MFI including development of staff and board of directors, capacities, institutional infrastructure to meet the required criterions set by the Banco Central de Timor Leste. 


Antonio de Jesus Salsinha, Lic. Eco.

     Position : Chief Finance Officer

     Year of Joining : 2003


Joined SFMR, S.A. on July 2003 as Field Officer till 2004, with his Hard working and honesty on April 2004 –September 2005 appointed as a Branch Manager, on October 2005 – August 2007 as a District Coordinator, he has strong commitment, showing best performing and always  dedicate his passion on customers need there for on September 2007 – May 2010 be trusted as a Deputy General Manager II, on July 2013 – October 2019 be appointed as a Finance Manager based on his Honesty, Loyalty and strong dedication , on November 2019 – active as a Chief of Finance Officer and in 2016 – 2023 as a Member of Management Committee. Graduated in Economic Bachelor degree and with the skill and knowledge had tackled and solve the issue and also responsible for the sustainability of the Institution and had attended a lot of training at many institution aboard.

Arlindo Jose Caetano, L. Ec.

     Position : Assistant General Manager

     Year of Joining : 2005


Joining SFMR, S.A. as an Accounting staff on July 2005 – June 2007, on July 2007 – March 2008 appointed as a Branch Manager, on April 2008 – November 2019 promoted as a Regional Manager and for his dedication, hardworking and Loyalty be appointed as an Assistant Operational Manager on December 2019 – March 2024, he is an extraordinary leader, he has showing strong leadership performing, passion and honesty therefor on April 2024-active promoted as an Assistant General Manager and in 2016 – 2023 join as a Member of the Management Committee. Graduated in Economic Bachelor degree and with the skill and knowledge had tackled and solve the issue and also responsible for the sustainability of the Institution and had attended a lot of training at many institution aboard.

Vasco Vital Pinto, Lic. Eco.

     Position : Assistant General Manager

     Year of Joining : 2007


Joining SFMR, S.A. as a Field officer on May 2007 – June 2008, appointed as a Branch Manager on July 2008 – September 2013, there is no doubt about his loyalty, honesty and hardworking, he has been showing his commitment and dedication on strong client recruitment, problem solving therefor on October 2013 – November 2019 promoted as a Regional Manager, on December 2019 – March 2024 as an Assistant Operation Manager and  for his dedication and commitment be trusted as an Assistant General Manager on Abril 2024- Active and  in 2016 – 2023 join as a Member of Management Committee. Graduated in Economic Bachelor degree and with the skill and knowledge had tackled and solve the issue and also responsible for the sustainability of the Institution and had attended a lot of training at many institution aboard.

Calistro Oliveira da Costa, L. Ec.

     Position : Human Resources & Admin Manager 

     Year of Joining : 2008


Joining SFMR, S.A. as a Field Officer on January 2008 – March 2009, because of this knowledge and commitment promoted as Internal Audit Staff on June 2009 - July 2011, he has been perform professionally in dedication, honesty and loyalty be appointed as an Administration and Personal Manager on August 2011 - November 2018, and continually showing strong commitment and hardworking there for promoted as a HR & Adm. Manager on December 2018 – active. Graduated in Economic Bachelor degree and Joining as a Management Committee Member in 2016 – 2023 and with the skill and knowledge had tackled and solve the issue, had attended a lot of training at many institution aboard and responsible for the sustainability of the Institution.

Claudino Magno, Lic. Dir.

     Position : Training Manager

     Year of Joining : 2001


Joining SFMR, S.A. on November 2001 as a Field Officer, on September 2002 – February 2003 promoted as a Branch Manager, for his Hardworking and commitment on March 2003 – February 2005 appointed as a District Coordinator, he has been showing best perform, honesty and loyalty and dedication on his job there for on March 2005 – August 2006 promote as a Deputy General Manager, and on September 2007 – April 2020 trusted to be as a General Manager, on November 2020 – active as a Senior Training Manager. Graduated in Law degree and in 2016 – 2023 as a Member of Management Committee and with the skill and knowledge had tackled and solve the issue and also responsible for the sustainability of the Institution and had attended a lot of training at many institution aboard.

Leão Maulaho Pereira

     Position : Regional Manager MASULAIBO

     Year of Joining : 2002


Joining SFMR, S.A. as a Field Officer on June 2002 – October 2004, for his hardworking and honesty on November 2004 – January 2006 appointed as a Branch Manager, on February 2006 – July 2012 be trusted as a District Coordinator, on August 2012 – October 2020 promote as a Branch Manager, and because of his dedication and perform appointed as a Regional Manager on November 2020 - active as and in 2016 – 2023 join as a Member of the Management Committee.

Marcelino Barreto, L. Ed.

     Position : Regional Manager ERDIPREI

     Year of Joining : 2003


Joining SFMR, S.A. as a Field Officer on June 2003- February 2004, he has strong commitments and showing best perform at field there for on March 2004 – January 2007 appointed as a Branch Manager and trust to be a District Finance Officer on February 2007 – May 2015, for his Loyalty and honesty appointed as a Regional Manager on June 2015 – active. Graduated in Education Bachelor degree, join as a Management Committee Member on 2016-2023 with the skill and knowledge had tackled and solve the issue, had attended a lot of training at many institution aboard and responsible for the sustainability of the Institution. 

Afonso do Carmo, Lic. Eco.

     Position : Risk and Management Manager

     Year of Joining : 2004


Joining SFMR, S.A. as a Field Officer on June 2004-April 2005, he has strong commitment in client’s recruiting and work hard to achieve target he runs his task very well in client serving and dedicate himself to fulfill clients needs therefor appointed as a Branch Manager on May 2005 – April 2013 and as an Internal Audit staff on May 2013 – January 20 15, he is an honest person, his dedication and passion has support him to be as a Risk Management Manager on February 2015 –active . Graduated in Economic Bachelor Degree and on January 2015 – active as a Member of General Management.

Guilhermina de C. Mendonça, S.Kom.

     Position : Management Information System & IT Manager

     Year of Joining : 2012


Joining SFMR, S.A. in 2012 as MIS staff, she built her career as well as she showed her commitment, hardworking and honesty therefor in 2013 appointed as a MIS Administrator until 2018, she had skill and knowledge to drive the her department, she dedicate herself on controlling and managing BR-Net System accurately therefor be promoted as a MIS-IT Manager until now. Graduated in Bachelor of Computer Science in Kupang-Indonesia. With the skill have handled and responsible for the Banking System that’s using in SFMR, S.A. and have attended a lot of training and comparative studies abroad.

Aquino Lopes, Lic. Eco.

     Position : Internal Audit Manager

     Year of Joining : 2006


Joining SFMR, S.A. on February 2006 – November as a field officer, he worked hard and had passion to achieve target, he dedicated himself in serving clients in rural area and always be a great team player therefor on December 2008 – March 2012 appointed as an Internal Audit Staff, he show his strong commitment, loyalty and honesty in playing his task as staff  therefor promoted as a Branch Manager on April 2012- May 2013 and as Team Leader Task Force on June 2013-June 2014,  he has skill and knowledge to drive his department therefor promoted as an Audit Team Coordinator on June 2014 – December 2014 and as an Internal Audit Manager on January 2015 – Active. Graduated in Economic Bachelor Degree and join as a member of General Management on January 2015 – Active.

Tomas da Costa, Lic. Eco.

     Position : Regional Manager SAMALEUDA

     Year of Joining : 2007


Joining SFMR, S.A. on May 2007 – March 2016 as a field officer, he dedicate himself to work with the client in rural area therefor on April 2016 – July 2019 appointed as a Branch Manager, he always showing his commitment and loyalty  and responsible for fulfilling client’s needs appropriately therefor appointed as a Regional Manager on August 2019 – Active. Graduated in Economic Bachelor Degree and as a member of General Manager on August 2019 – Active and with the skill and knowledge have handle and solve the issue and also responsible for the sustainability of the Institution and attend a lot of training at many institution aboard.

Alcino Canisio de Jesus

     Position : Regional Manager MALOBALA

     Year of Joining : 2007


Joining SFMR, S.A. on May 2007- November 2010 as Field officer, he has strong commitment and hardworking appointed as a Branch Manager on December 2010-October 2019, as Regional Manager on November 2019 – active, he is an extraordinary Leader on controlling and managing Regional task, he has been successfully lead in Regional and in November 2019 join as a General Management Member-active.

Joining SFMR, S.A. on May 2012 – March 2015 as a Field Officer, he worked hard to achieve target, he is a great team player and has strong commitment on controlling and managing his task therefor appointed as a Branch Manager on April 2015 – September 2019, because of his loyalty and honesty promoted as a Regional Manager on October 2019 – Active. Graduated in Economic Bachelor Degree and in October 2019 join as a General Management Member – Active.

Baptista dos Santos Elo

     Position : Regional Manager ATALOEMAU

Joining SFMR, S.A. as Branch Operator on June 2010 - September 2022, he has strong commitment and always work hard, his dedication and  passion on running his task has been successfully gain trust to be as a Branch Manager on October 2022- January 2024, he has skill and knowledge to drive his Branch to achieve target, he is an honest person, loyal and extraordinary leader, he is a great team player also therefor promoted a Regional Manager on February 2024 and join as a member of General Management on February 2024 – active.

Amadeu dos Santos Marques, L. Ec.

     Position : Compliance Officer

     Year of Joining : 2007


 


Joining SFMR, S.A. as a Field Officer on May 2007 – January 2008, he dedicate himself to work for clients in rural area and has enough experience to be a leader therefor promoted as a Branch Manager on February 2008 – May 2010, he always perform professionally and cooperate with the team to achieve target therefor appointed as a Regional Manager on June 2010-September 2023, he is an honest person and has commitment on managing his job be appointed as a Risk Management Manager on October 2013 – December 2014 and as a special Project Manager on January 2015 – November 2018, he show his best and his passion in fulfilling client’s needs and had skill and knowledge to drive the institution therefor appointed as a Compliance Officer on December 2018 – active. Graduated in Economic Bachelor Degree and as a Member of General Management on November 2018 – Active and with the skill and knowledge have handled and solve the issue and also responsible for the sustainability of the Institution and attend a lot of training at many institution aboard.
