History of the Organization
Servisu Finanseiru Moris Rasik, SA (SFMR, S.A) is a newly licensed Other Deposit-Taking Institution (ODTI) duly regulated by Banco Central de Timor-Leste (BCTL). Definitive license was granted on 23 November 2018 based on BCTL’s Public Instruction No. 06/2010 on the Licensing and Supervision of Other Deposit Taking Institutions (ODTIs).
SFMR, S.A originates back in November 2000 when it started as a microfinance institution under MORIS RASIK (MR), meaning in Tetun- INDEPENDENT LIFE. It was established during the post conflict environment following the Independence of Timor-Leste gained in 1999, founded by Ms. Helen Todd, New Zealander, (with technical assistance from CASHPOR Malaysia)
Servisu Finanseiru Moris Rasik, S.A has 24 Branches and 6 Regionals. By the end of July 2024 total active clients are 24,759 and strength of local staff are 264 and 1 foreign Microfinances Adviser.
Based on the statistic index by Government in 2022, the average number of every household family are 6 people it means SFMR, S.A not only provide loan to clients but also contribute to the economics of the family for 148,554 people in Timor –Leste (total active clients*total average per household family).
